Nice to Meet You!

I became a wedding photographer because I wanted to prove - through emotive artwork - how big, real, deep, and awesome true love really is. Couples like you, who are madly in love, are so important to photograph. I believe your story should be captured and told through photographs for decades to come.

I was born and raised in Sooke, British Columbia. I am first generation Canadian on my mom’s side (South African) and second generation on my dad’s (Latvian). I grew up in a renovated school bus parked on a 90 acre mountain. I have a degree in Tourism & Recreation Management and a PDD in Business, HR & Leadership. I love to travel! Central America has my heart, and I’ve also traveled across Canada, the United States, and to Europe. I love all animals. Unpopular opinion: jumping spiders are freakin adorable! I became a mom in 2022 and I have a Bernedoodle named Baltimore Jones (Balto for short).

Since starting my photography business, I have not only met and photographed tons of amazing couples, but I have also been a Click Community Mentor, traveled North America teaching photographers how to pose couples, and started an online photography conference called Call Me Artist Retreat.

I always work with the absolute best couples who are seeking epic portraits in outdoor locations as well as beautiful candid moments of them and their guests.

I would love to hear all about the details of your day! Please connect anytime to ask questions or book photography services for your Big Day.

“My partner and I hired Ebony to photograph our December wedding in January 2020. We met for coffee, discussed our vision for the day and reviewed previous galleries. We found Ebony to be warm, engaging, and genuinely excited about our event. As an LGBTQIA2S+ couple, it was very important to us to work with an affirming vendor. Ebony is wonderful and welcomes all couples.

We then booked our engagement session for February, and we had a great experience getting to know one another. Ebony is a dog person, and was able to get our suspicious pup to warm up to her very quickly! After the session we communicated about how it felt being in front of the camera and any changes in how we wanted to interact on the wedding day. Throughout the rest of 2020 leading up to December, our wedding plans changed in number of guests, location, and finally date several times. Ebony was compassionate, helpful and flexible through all of our changing plans. She was a very positive influence in a challenging year for wedding planning!

On our wedding day, we thoroughly enjoyed working with Ebony and her second shooter Steph of Steph and Kati Photography! They helped both of us to calm our nerves, and made taking our wedding photos such a fun experience. They both worked seamlessly with our celebrant Barbara Densmore to capture our ceremony beautifully. Having now received our gallery in under a month during holiday season, we can say that our photos are stunning and they truly capture the love and joy of our wedding day. We happily and enthusiastically recommend Ebony and Red Cedar Photography and we hope to work together again to celebrate future life events!”
